Kaito chuckled at Yuuki's response, then looked over at Shojo, but didn't respond to his question. He waited for a moment, then began following Shojo, but stopped next to Kazuha. "I wont be here much longer. My team is waiting for me anyways." He lightly tapped Kazu on the shoulder, then continued walking. "Yo kid! Wait up!" He called as Shojo was going up the stairs.
Kazuha glared at Kaito, not trusting him one bit. He watched as he went after Shojo, then sighed and walked into the store. He looked over at Yuuki, staring at her for a moment, then walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed. He looked around the store at everyone that was there. He sighed again and laid down next to Yuuki, wrapping his arm around her. He leaned up and kissed her cheek, then cuddled up to her as he laid his head down and closed his eyes, soon falling asleep.
"It does actually. There's still time though, but I can't garuntee anything," Haku said as he followed her. He watched as she walked over to her boyfriend and smiled a little. He walked over to Souske when she backed away, setting down his bag. "He's barely concious. I'm surprised you can still talk kid. The infection is spreading very slowly though, which is good. Must've been a small bite." He looked over at Karu. "Use that rope to restrain his arms and legs," he said then turned his attention to Souske again.
Souske looked up at Karu and smiled a little, but wasn't able to hug her back. He looked over at Haku. "How exactly can he help?" He asked curiously as Haku began examining him, his voice raspy and quiet as he spoke. He was a little surprised by Haku's answer. "One of them...? What happened to all the others?"
"I was one of the few who vulunteered to find a cure. I'm a scientist, medical scientist to be exact." Haku explained as he knelt down and rummaged through his bag. "In order to find a cure, we had to keep infected in the labs. Security was tight, so there was no way any casualties could happen. Or...so we thought. About a month ago, we found out that the disease can spread through more than just bites. If their blood or saliva gets into your system in any way, you'll end up as one of them. Also, the closer the bite is to your heart, the quicker you'll turn." He sighed, pulling out a needle and a vial. "One of the other scientists turned and everything went to hell in a matter of hours."
Souske listened to his story, then began to wonder something. "So, how exactly did you survive?" He asked, looking at the needle.
Haku was quiet for a moment, then set down the vial and turned his head to Souske. "I was in one of the labs when the security system went off, causing the whole place to lock up. It locked me in and there was no way out. It was a precaution from the military to keep everything locked up til they came to get it, but no one showed up." He pulled up Souske's sleeve, then found the vain and put the needle in, injecting a bluish liquid. "I was locked in there for three days...I think...I'm not sure how long I was in there actually. I was lucky that I was able to get out when Kaito and his gang came to raid the place for supplies. I was able to save most of my research as well." He stood up as he pulled the needle out and put it in a different section of his bag to get cleaned later. "I'm gonna have to inject that serum at least every two hours, so I'll observe you for the night. If it works, by morning, you should be able to at least walk and breathe normally again," he explained, then sat down and leaned up against a wall and adjusted his watched to make sure he could time it right.

Shojo kind of rolled his eyes when he heard Kaito yelling for him to wait up for him. He stop in the middle of the stairs and waited. "So what does 'mister big guns, don't need anyone but my crew, guy need know?" He asked kind of rudly as Kaito caught up to him.

Karu listened to Haku's story as well, not like she had anything else to do. "And I'll stay up with you." She said as she smiled at both of them and sat next Souske, holding his hand. 'Hopefully this works... Because if it doesn't, I don't know what I would do...'

Haku watched as Souske eventually fell asleep. He looked over at Karu and smiled a little. "I can't garuntee anything, but theres still a high chance he'll live. It was spreading slow and still seemed pretty far from his heart." He sighed, looking back at Souske. "But the antidote isn't finished yet...it doesn't completely kill the virus. I'll be able to spread his doses out more as it gets pushed back and make it last longer, but that may only be for a week. Unless I keep giving it to him, it'll just end up spreading again. I need to find a way to continue my research somehow and I'm sorry to say, but your boyfriend is the perfect test subject. I'll have to get his consent of course...doesn't matter that the worlds gone to hell. It's rather not test on someone against their will..."
Kaito laughed and lightly tapped Shojo on the back. "I was just going to ask if she seemed happy here or not? You know, does she smile at all or at least open up to anyone here?" He asked curiously, rubbing his head as he looked back towards the store. "Well...forget it..." He sighed, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a box and tossing it to Shojo. "Do me a favor and give her that for me kid. I'll be back in the morning for my friend. I don't really wanna search for him right now anyways." He smiled, doing a quick salute as he turned and headed back towards the entrance. Inside the box was a neckless, a locket in fact. Inside the locket was a picture of Kaito and Suki when she was little and on the other side was a picture of her mother and another little girl that seemed a little younger. There was also a note from him.
Happy 12th birthday sweetheart. I hope you're getting used to a normal life. I wish I could come home more often and I know this probably wont make up for me missing another birthday, but I promise to come visit soon. Give your mother a hug and kiss for me.
I love you baby girl,
Daddy
P.S. I know you're still mad at me, but you could at least give me a call once in a while. You know I'm never too busy to talk to you.
Kaito had kept it for six years, when all this started, but never got the chance to send it.

Shojo gave Kaito a very curious look when he was tapped on the back. Before he could answer he was told to forget it and shrugged. Right as he started turning around he noticed Kaito throw something at him quickly turned back, fumbling the box a little in the air. 'Geez, this guy really needs to learn when to be family oriented.' He thought as he watched Kaito go back into. He stared at the box as he walked over ot he ledge and sat down, puzzling at what was in the box. He opened it and noticed that there was a locket and a note. First he opened the locket and saw that it had two pictures inside. "Better not bring this up in conversation because I might get my ass kicked for talking about a touchy subject." He chuckled a little then put the locket back into the box and took the note out and began reading it. "It's probably been quite a while since he wrote this. Better go give it to or place it next to Suki." He said as he stood back up and headed for the enterance.

Karu also watched Souske as he fell alseep and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She looked at Haku when he started speaking to her and listened to what he had to say. She sat back down and nodded every once in a while while he monologged. "Well hopefully youll be able to finish the syrum. I really appreciate what you've done for him and I'm glad that he'll be able to live a little longer." She said and smiled at Haku. She covered her mouth as she yawned and rubbed her eyes. "So what other ingredients do you need for the syrum?" She asked curiously as she stretched.

Haku turned his head and smiled at Karu. "Hopefully I can do more than prolong this." He looked over towards Souske as she asked her question. "Mostly things I can find in common medicines. It's seperating them and getting the amount I need that's the problem. It could take hours to extract from one pill without the proper equipment..." He looked at Karu and smiled at her. "I'll take a look around the mall in the morning to see if I can find any equipment to make my job easier. Does anyone else know what his condition is?" He asked and waited for her answer. "I see." He leaned his head back, looking up at the ceiling. "It's probably insesative for me to say this, but you were right to keep him hidden. There's a side effect to this drug. Too much of it can cause some...anger problems...that's why I asked you to restrain him. He could still attack us as if he was already one of them. It's...not a pretty sight..."

Karu continued to nod as Haku started explaining what he needed to do. She tilted her head down a little when he asked his question and shook her head. She starting feeling a little quilty that she didn't tell anyone but at the same time felt a little relieved, until Haku said that there was a side effect to the drug. She looked back up in slight fear and confusion thinking, 'What could be in this drug to do such a thing?' So she asked him exactly what she had just thought and waited for a response.

OOC: In all honesty, do you want to continue this one? because I don't and if you agree then I'll archive it.
